In this chapter we will see that there is very good evidence of differential survival types in preindustrial England in the years 1250-1800. In particular economic success translated powerfully into reproductive success, with the richest individuals having more than twice the number of surviving children at death as the poorest.
Indeed the evidence is that the poorest individuals in the Malthusian era would typically not produce themselves at all. Instead preindustrial England was a world of constant downward mobility. Given the static nature of the economy and of the opportunities it afforded, the abundant children of the rich had to, on average, move down the social hierarchy. Had I been cordial with Mike and kowtowed to him (a status reversal**) he would have likely allowed me to join his staff (probably as a ball boy). Why? because Mike is kind, compassionate, and altruistic and, more importantly, had the utmost respect for my basketball playing ability and knowledge. I could sense this in the email exchanges I had with him (2019-2020) prior to he ceasing to respond to me (after he sensed that I was being facetious). (As an aside, all 3 of Mikes sister's were attracted to me the moment they met me.)

Sharing personal/sensitive info about oneself is an honest signal of trust since it exposes your vulnerabilities which could become costly (e.g. gossip). Since women have higher cost of suboptimal mating, they place higher premium on trust thus valuing personal info-sharing more.

Introductory psychology courses did little to dispel myths and misconceptions about psychology from students' minds. link.springer.com/article/10.100 Many people endorse myths and hold misconceptions about human behavior and mental processes, and even taking a course in psychology does not necessarily reduce these misconceptions.
