This is the first time I've seen Manakin play and I'm unimpressed. He's similar to Lowcash in the sense that he lacks explosive quickness and explosive hops, but unlike* Lowcash, Manakin can run the point (handles the ball and passes the ball better than Lowcash). Will Manakin play in the NBA? No. Is Manakin Hawaiian? No. Manakin is a dime-a-dozen WhiF (White/Filipino) and plays similarly to all the WhiFs I've seen play (nothing impressive).
I'll be watching today's game. I wonder if Lowcash has met Manakin. If not, he'll meet him today.
*Dissimilar to Lowcash, Manakin doesn't shoot it well. Manakin is an inconsistent shooter at best.
Yesterday (11/28/25), after leaving the hoop courts at Auwaiolimu Park I began walking up Quinta Lane and passed a woman smoking https://x.com/avidseries/status/1994869188762939739 that I'd previously seen there - a thin, lanky, darker skinned, mostly Pilipina woman with maybe a smidgen of Hawaiian DNA. She's the mother of the son of a guy named Ken. Ken is either Scottish or Irish and often walks his dog at that park (that's where I met him). Anyway, as I passed her I said, "hey, you're Ken's friend" and she said, "yeah, you stutter (Stuttering: An Evolutionary Hypothesis – Genetics; Species; Hierarchy; Social Role; Individual; Specialization; Self-Suppression – Understanding Dysfluency)? you stink [pass gas in public]?" She'd been listening to me as I gave instruction to a kid named Rich on the hoop courts. She's attracted to me, but I find her unappealing mostly because she's in a relationship with my acquaintance and to a lesser extent because she smokes and her face isn't very attractive (it includes a U-shaped scar on her right cheek). She unconsciously made reference to speaking ability and body odor because she's probably wondering why an attractive, intelligent, athletic guy like me walks the streets and appears homeless!
There's a French Canadian from Canada named Robert that I recently met at the 24 Hour Fitness on Bishop Street and King Street. I don't get a good sense from him. Last night (11/28/25) at about 8:00 PM as I was crossing Bishop Street on Hotel Street to get to the Nice 2 C U store (Take a look inside Honolulu’s new Korean CU store) I noticed him staring at me from a diagonal angle across the street just as he turned his back to me to begin walking to the 7/11 on Bishop Street, but before he did so he seemed to have said under his breath, "poor, Mexican looking alcoholic!" Robert may also have been staring at me to determine if I were crying.
